Today, teaching activities are more modern and of higher quality. What’s even better is that every student can study independently if they have a phone, through websites or learning apps. E-School Cambodia is an innovative online learning program designed to provide education to students from grades 1 to 12. It aims to improve access to education and support.
The E-School Cambodia platform was launched in 2017. This app includes videos, testing tools, and performance tracking. According to E-School Cambodia, in 2021, it was launched to offer free online learning for Grade 12 students to support their studies during the COVID-19 pandemic. They also provided an 85 percent discount on tuition fees for students in other grades. Starting from grade 1 to grade 11, those students were required to pay only 15 percent of the fees for their studies during that time. The specific goal is to enable students to study online in preparation for the Baccalaureate exam. Through this program, every student in Cambodia, whether in Phnom Penh or the provinces, has the opportunity to study with renowned professors.

As a result of its active promotion, many students quickly recognized the program and found it interesting, leading them to start using the app to aid their learning. A student named Thida, who is a long-time user, shared, “I was interested in using it because I saw many famous teachers involved and noticed that there were many resources available. My friends introduced me to this app, and I decided to try it. Obviously, I still study at school as usual because I need additional teachers to explain concepts. When I started studying, I had to pay $30 a year, and while there were older videos available, they covered all subjects.”
Numerous student comments acknowledge that the program is effective and has helped them improve their studies. When they do not understand what they have learned at school, they can use the program to catch up on lessons. Moreover, all the teachers and videos incorporate effective teaching techniques with a clear focus on addressing the objectives of each lesson. Thida also faced some issues, such as the program being a bit slow.

A student who received a grade B in Mathematics from Hun Sen Somdech Ov High School in Serey Sophorn City, Banteay Meanchey Province, Pisith claimed that “I first learned about this app via Facebook. When I was in Grade 12, I followed all the news about the BacaIl Exam or Grade 12 exam, and then I liked their page and completed all the exercises while Teacher Neang Bo was teaching.”
At that time, Pisith was using this app for his studies and decided to purchase a specific course to enhance his skills. It was a mathematics course that cost around $10 for all the lessons in Grade 12. He believes that the app helped him practice effectively because it allows him to watch recorded videos whenever he wants. What’s interesting about the app is that he could leave comments about things he didn’t understand and ask the teacher for help, although it took some time to receive a response.

Something positive happened for Pisith: he ultimately received a B in the national exam for Mathematics, which was the best reward for his hard work and effort.
Chemistry professor Chey Thavy, who teaches in the program, stated that students in the E-School program will not fail the Grade 12 exam. E-School will refund their money if they fail based on information from E-School Cambodia’s Facebook page. Due to encouragement and assurance from teachers, the program continues to motivate students to keep learning.
The primary goal of E-School is to ensure that all registered students succeed, particularly those who excel academically and earn a certificate of completion directly from Mr. Chhorn Chhunleng, founder of E-School.
For the 2024-2025 academic year, E-School Cambodia is offering a series of preparatory courses that include the first semester, second semester, and final semester. This comprehensive course spans the entire year and is priced at $600.
